FamVault, a next-generation consumer platform built on microservices architecture, partnered with Calibo to streamline cloud-native application deployment and accelerate time-to-market for their digital vault solution—powered by Calibo Accelerate One.
Challenges
FamVault was dealing with several challenges:
- Microservices complexity: managing numerous interconnected microservices can become complex, requiring careful orchestration to ensure smooth integration and functionality.
- CI/CD pipeline management: developing and maintaining multi-stage CI/CD pipelines across environments like dev, UAT, pre-prod, and production involve ensuring consistent deployments and efficiently handling pipeline failures.
- Infrastructure provisioning and scalability: balancing scalable infrastructure with cost-effectiveness is challenging, especially in supporting fluctuating user demands without incurring high costs.
- Toolchain integration: the integration of various DevOps tools (AWS, Kubernetes, react/java stack) demands cohesion and alignment with development processes.
- Security and compliance: handling sensitive personal documents necessitates robust security and compliance with regulations, presenting challenges in implementation and maintenance.
- Resource constraints: a lean team needs sufficient expertise and bandwidth to manage sophisticated deployments and DevOps tasks effectively.
- Post-launch stability: maintaining stability across multiple environments post-launch requires continuous monitoring and rapid response to incidents.
The objective
FamVault set out to build a secure, scalable digital vault platform to help families and individuals organize and protect sensitive personal documents. The initial roadmap estimated over one year to develop and launch the platform and application stack.
